Location: Derbyshire or Melton Mowbray
Rate: £45 p/h (Ltd – Outside IR35)
Contract: 6 months (likely extension)
Working Pattern: 4 days onsite, Fridays WFH
Our client is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the full design lifecycle, from concept through to delivery, on high-impact engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop mechanical designs using Inventor
- Perform calculations for structural load, airflow, and environmental forces
- Drive design improvements for cost, weight, and manufacturability
- Support and lead technical reviews with cross-functional teams
Requirements:
- Strong background in mechanical/structural engineering and fabrication
- Proficient in Mathcad, Excel, and hand calculations
- Experience with Inventor or similar (e.g. SolidWorks)
- Knowledge of acoustics, thermal, and airflow systems
- Engineering qualification
